Quote: You Sir/Gal are a class A moron!! We/ you are the ones flying the planes. The tip of the spear so to speak. Wake up and realize who you are and what you do that they( mgt ) can not do!!
Some of the biggest idiots I know are pilots. We're not special, we were just willing to spend an incredible amount of money to learn a profession that would only maybe pay off in the long run.

Quote: It was going to shrink but new blood would have been available meaning an upgrade would have eventually happened. As it stands now no one is applying, our contract is bad and we have no reasonable expectation of an upgrade for new hires. This is something the no voters never seemed to understand.
You sound like one of these whining pilots that is crying about the 1500 hour rule. Without standing up the pay and work rules will never improve. If the management teams really want to fix the shortage they would address that first thing. Upgrade is not everything.

Our worthless current contract which is well below average isn't bringing any new hires into this industry. It's not like we were industry leading to begin with.

Quote: Thousands of regional pilots will be hired at the BIG 3 plus spirit, JB, LUV, AK, etc... There will be plenty of movement over the next decade.

Besides, this whole thing purty much all comes down to luck and timing. Example: my bro-n-law is about 8 years older than myself. He flew a few yrs at EGl. A few at ATA and was then picked up by NWA. That how it's supposed to go.

I on the other hand have spent 15 LOOONG ARSE years between 2 regionals. Age 65, 9/11, Great Recession, consolidation, etc... happened. BAD timing for me. And many of my fellow aviators.

But almost 13 yrs at ASA/XJT and I put in my NO vote on day 1 of voting. I've got 2 kids, mortgage, etc... and knew exactly what was at stake by voting down that turd of a TA. We are parking planes too and mgt said no more bidding on rfp's without a JCBA. Fine. I'm over the whole thing and it's just not worth doing anymore for a dime less!!

You will be fine Bzzt. We all will.
Yes people will be hired, but not white male FOs with no PIC and no connections such as myself.

Good job. If eagle comes apart whichever carrier gets the hulls needs to pay protect the eagle pilots that come over. That would be the right thing to do, but I'm not

So tell me how an even worse contract would've solved that? Take a step back from the keyboard.

Very, Very proud for my brothers at AE. Although I thought the pilots would vote this down, I am even more impressed that your MEC voted no. In a different thread, I stated that the the future of regional pilots now stands with the AE pilots. ASA/XJT/AE have held the line. Let management squirm and fear monger. There is nothing left for them. Grow a pair, pay your pilots descent wages, or get out.

This is it folks, C-scale is over.
