Default ATP Certification Training Program

What regionals will offer this course come August?

The New ATP Rules May Affect You » Pilot Jobs Blog

I ask because I heard Riddle will not offer it to outsiders, Purdue and other schools alike do not plan to offer this (Sims are too expensive) and 142 places such as FSI do not have the resources to handle hundreds of pilots a month in addition to what they already have.

Thoughts?

This will be a part of every regional's initial training program as far as I know.

I have heard that as long as you complete an approved 121 training course (airline) it will reactivate an expired ATP written. One of the inspectors believes that the FAA did not remove that exception.

You don't need the actual ATP by August. After that date you will just have to present the course completion certificate in order to take the written. If you already have the written you are good for 24 months. At least that is how I read it. Someone correct if I'm wrong.

61.153(e) After July 31, 2014, for an airline transport pilot certificate with an airplane category multiengine class rating or an airline transport pilot certificate obtained concurrently with an airplane type rating, receive a graduation certificate from an authorized training provider certifying completion of the airline transport pilot certification training program specified in §61.156 before applying for the knowledge test required by paragraph (g) of this section;

Used to be the case but they added this:

61.155(d) An applicant who successfully completes the knowledge test for an airline transport pilot certificate prior to August 1, 2014, must successfully complete the practical test within 24 months from the month in which the knowledge test was successfully completed. An applicant who passes the knowledge test prior to August 1, 2014, but fails to successfully complete the practical test within 24 months must complete the airline transport pilot certification training program specified in §61.156 and retake the knowledge test prior to applying for the practical test.

You only have to have the WRITTEN completed by August to avoid this, not the cert itself. Get your written done ASAP!!!!!'

What about those who can't ( age, won't meet the 1500 in two years etc )..

I sure hope they won't have to fund this themselves?
