I don't have a dog in this fight, but I most assuredly have an opinion.
For years, we pilots have been our own worst enemies. I thought that might be changing when the UA pilots struck in 1985 over new entry pay.
It's been almost 30 years since then. Oh sure, there were a few gains after that, but that ended with the UA pilot contract of 2000. Since then most pilot groups didn't see a concession they didn't like. Especially the majors.
It's ironic that the regional's are now leading the way. Maybe the majors will see the light and and follow.

I am one of the ones at RAH that voted no. Trust me, the temptation to vote yes was there, not because I agreed with the TA, I saw right away that it fell way short of what we deserve, but my financial situation as a 6 year FO with wife and toddler is dire. A bonus, as bad as it was and the bump in pay would definetly have helped. However, I decided to do the right thing instead. It is time we think about all of us, instead of me, me, me... pilots can be greedy, childish and selfish. We are our worst enemies at times. Today I feel good for my decision to vote no and hope this profession recovers the prestige it deserves.

I have 38 years left in this industry, we are all doing the right thing.
There's a reason that Mesa isn't having mass attrition. Turbine pic isn't important and it's dying fast. I sat down with the head of recruitment from united, he said to me that total time matters, but they do not punish those who through no fault of their own have been stuck for 5+ years in the right seat of an rj. A Mesa guy with 5k total and 1500 pic and a expressjet guy with 6000 total and no pic, I got the vibe are the same on paper.

I'm three years at eagle,I have a two year old, and I'm living in north jersey. I feel like a friggin refuge in my own life man, scraping by paycheck to paycheck.I hear ya and I'm with ya. The turbine pic and pay would be great, but enough is enough. We have hot rock bottom in this industry.
