Default QX PDX Base

Just wondering how hard it'd be to get PDX as a base out of training and if not do y'all know of crash pads at the out station bases? Also what's reserve like there? Thanks for any info!

My info is a few months dated but it took 3 bids and I was hired in August. There is one crash pad there that I know of. Google PDX crash pads and it will pop up. You'll probably get MFR first though and there's the "farm" you'll know/hear more about if you get assigned there. BOI had nothing afaik I spent a couple bids there and with how much I was flying I just paid for a room at the Red Lion $56/night crew rate and if need be slept in the sleep room and commuted out the next morning. That wasn't ideal but every trip I had was an AM show PM finish so I spent only about 5-6 hours in there. Not sure about Spokane I think there was an apartment guys split though.

I am in training at QX right now and almost everyone got their first choice of basing, including 3 to PDX. The base that you cannot get right out of training is ANC. Funny how things change.

That's where I don't wanna go! ANC. No offense but I wanna be based in the NW. Ever since my Colgan days I've wanted to. Being on second year pay at RP is basically the same as first year at QX and being able to be based where I've always wanted. I'm gonna give it a shot. How long is reserve?

The length of reserve will vary greatly, so much so that I'm not even going to give you a solid number. Somewhere between one month and 4 years, depending on base.

People are getting all bases right out of training at the moment. There are crash pads in GEG, if you get stuck there. Living in the Northwest is great, and it's even better if you're based where you live. I'd honestly say that living in base at QX is one of the better regional gigs out there.

Come on over!
