I've never had one on my line and I've never met an FO who's had CDO's and did bid it. If you got them then PBS probably screwed you. When you log onto PBS and you check your new line, does it say that the CDO is a forced pairing, if not then you bid it?

what's worse is that 4 of them are the exact same pairing, PBS is treating me weird, in Dec. I bid 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 off. I didn't even bother to bid 24, 25, and I was worried I couldn't hold 31. But PBS gave me 24, 25, and 31 off. (All the ones I thought I couldn't get off.) But it PN'd me on the 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th for standups. How fricken bizarre is that? And then it gave me another standup to start january. At least I understood working the first, a junior guy should have to, but the other stuff seems weird.

Yes, I'm a pretty senior Bro FO so I have been able to hold my first 2 layers for about 6 months now, but that sux. PBS can really give it to you when you're JR. Take care and have a Mery X-Mas.

Sure, this story is a great way to attack Mesa. I understand that is a politically correct hobby for many pilots. But what in this story is unique to Mesa, other than the hotel room thing (which granted is silly on their part)?
1) I would definately go to the hotel room. There is no way you can sleep well even for a little bit on an airplane.

2) NO. At comair we do complete months of cd's. Many senior people actually bid for them all the time.

3) Absoulutely

Two questions to you Mesa pilots out there:

Who has to sleep with the captain?

Do you let the FA have the bathroom first in the morning or make her wait?
