6.5-minus .5 to the hotel .5 to the airport. 1.0 to get ready and eat breakfast .5 to actually fall asleep. now your down to 4 hours. add a little delay here or there wether it be buses and you have barely over 3 hours of sleep.

lets clarify a few things here:
first of all, i hate standup overnights
however, doing a standup / cdo is similar to working the night shift with a break in the middle for a quick nap. it ruins your circadian rhythm.
mesa provides one room on SHORT CDOs (<4 hrs) for the crew to hang out, instead of being in the airplane. on CDOs longer than 4 hrs individual rooms are given (obviously).
the public media fails to mention that most crews go home or back to the crashpad to sleep all day in preparation for the next standup. what really stinks is when they flip flop you and you transition from a night shift to day shift.
i think that standups shouldn't be allowed, they arent kosher. ALPA national needs to work to fight against such absurd scheduling.
there's my 2 cents, maybe that helps.

You need to check your math...
10 hour overnight after a 12+ hour duty day
30 mins to hotel
30 mins to check in, change, iron for next day
1 hour to get something to eat
30 mins to wind down
6.5 hours of sleep
30 mins to shower/dressed
30 mins for breakfast
30 mins to airport
I see 6 hours here...you don't take into account having to wait >30 mins for the van which has happened to me many times. Van service at the hotels may leave at certain times only. If you fall between goes, you're getting up earlier to catch the van. Now, do your math with a legal 8 hour reduced rest layover...
