Did ALPA National negotiate benefits at *your* airline, or did pilots that work at your airline staff your Negotiating Committee?

Did ALPA National vote for the CBA at *your* airline, or did pilots that work at your airline do the ratification?

Sounds like Gjet needs to IMMEDIATELY run for a MEC position at his airline and show us all how it's done.

Send me your dues and I'll be happy to give it a shot.

So you're complaining about ALPA and you're not even a member?

??? Never said that. But you said it plain enough to my response in the other thread, that basically, ALPA doesn't do much for the regional pilot. And you are right!!! (So why pay dues?)

Maybe you need to start spending some time taking action at the union to try to make things better, rather than spending so much time on these forums pumping a union that doesn't do much (if anything) for the regional pilots. If you are already doing that, then you are failing. Why is this? Do you need more input or support from other members? Or do regional pilots need a regional union that goes to bat for them, not mainline guys. Either way, ALPA could be doing a hell of a lot more for us. Just sayin...

If you never said that, then why would you make a comment that I should send you dues money so that you can run for office? What does anyone sending you dues money have to do with you running for office? I just assumed someone who would make a comment like that isn't even an ALPA member as they don't understand how the election process works.

Further, "I am already doing that." Been doing "that" for over 20 years now in one form or another. I've found that the people who don't show up for union meetings, don't volunteer for union positions, don't communicate directly with their reps are, again, amongst the most clueless pilots at the airline. They have no idea what ALPA CAN and CANNOT do, and therefore assign blame where it shouldn't be assigned. And if you think I'm an ALPA cheerleader....you don't know me very well. I'm just a realist and I understand what ALPA (or any union for that matter) CAN and CANNOT do. I also believe that ALPA is the best union to represent my interests right now as an airline pilot. That's why I find your ramblings a few posts back pretty comical. I can't count how many times I've heard it or read it before.

So......instead of whining on an internet forum about how terrible ALPA is, perhaps you should run for a MEC position at your airline and actually do something to evoke change? Show us all how it's done? Don't get me wrong- your keyboard muscles are big and strong and of course I'm thoroughly impressed, but if you are as knowledgeable as you think you are, then you know where the REAL work gets done, right?

And if that involves the regional airlines getting their "own" union to represent them, go for it! Start the process tomorrow! I'd even send money to help support the change, just like I have with other airlines like JetBlue. Boot ALPA out the door! Show us all how a union should be run. He11, if your new union does a better job than ALPA or IAM or whoever, I'd be first in line to change the union at my airline. But again, I won't hold my breath. Unfortunately internet bravado rarely translates into meaningful action.
