Default ALPA Hiring...

It's interesting to note that ALPA employees have better benefits than many of us, yet cave in when it comes to negotiating our benefits.

Check it out:https://jobs-alpa.icims.com/jobs/int...Redirect=false
ALPA offers competitive salaries with excellent benefits, including:
  • 26 days paid vacation and holidays per year;
  • Generous sick and bereavement leave;
  • Generous health care benefits – PPO, two HMO’s (where available) and a High Deductible Health Plan which includes coverage for medical, dental, and vision benefits for employee, spouse, and/or dependent children;
  • Company-paid premiums for disability and life insurance;
  • $2 for $1 matching 401(k) retirement savings plan; Roth 401(k);
  • Flexible Spending and Health Savings accounts; and
  • Retiree health plan.
Pretty sweet gig if you can get it.....

Your dues at work. I thought the same until I actually worked with em, and getting hired there isn't easy. All of em have lots of previous experience and take care of anything asked of them, very well I might add. You get what you pay for.

You gotta pay to play, that's life.

You mean like the ALPA "journalist" that wrote the story about "Timmy Martin"?

And your interview "what was your worst flight" question doesn't factor? Pretty sure the editor and author will site it in an interview. Can you imagine the ease of "and what did you learn from that...?" Softball.

If you want to knock the Alpa staff, you gotta dig deeper. Everyone I worked with became a first name basis and took care of anything asked before I could even find a complaint. That was as a rep, so there is a bias, but I remember sending a comm up to national on a weekend and it being in the inbox within an hour after. Nothing like sending a confirmation, shutting the phone off for a 1 hour flight, and landing with a bunch of emails from pilots. Can't beat the staffers. Once again, gotta pay to play

He's probably the reason management decided to offer unsolicited raises for the entire pilot group...
