It's been my unscientific observation that mainline pilots act more like children on the forums, in the terminal, on the radio, and in the cockpit, than any other group.
When all else fails, bash the incoming generation. It makes you feel better.

Ah yes, all the buzz words. You forgot "millennial"
I had a conversation with a senior UAL guy in the jumpseat a few years ago. He accused me of being "entitled" because I expect career progression at some point in my life. He was pushing for retirement to be changed to age 70, while I expressed my displeasure with it being at 65 instead of 60. "You think you're entitled to my job" or something to that extent
So tell me, who is entitled? The guy who wants to move up in the world? Or the guy who refuses to retire because he wants more money for himself? "Thanks to the guys who retired before me, and screw the guys who come after me. Its all ME ME ME!!"

For some reason we often assume the senior major guy hasn't paid any....everyone has some sort of cross to bear and has some sort of rite of passage/entry. Just that some have/had more than others.
