Exactly. If people keep going to places like this the bar in terms of pay & QOL will stay right where it is. SJS is a helluva drug.

It's nonsense and very childish.

One group thinks they are the aces of the flying universe because they had to take a
useless mechanical aptitude test or pass some stupid psycho exam versus
some other group who got offered a job via a phone call.

Another group thinks their outfit is the greatest thing since the invention
of toilet paper because they start out at $24 hour versus $22.

When you cut through all the layers of B.S. all regionals are essentially the same and everyone takes the same FAA checkride to identical Practical Test Standards.

I've got my flakjacket on, so all you haters can feel free to fire away.

One exception is a regional with cancellation pay vs no cancellation pay. Republic sucks in that regard, go to a different airline, it makes a huge difference.

What is the thought on SkyWest's upgrade times in the future? I have an offer in hand with them, and I am about 99% sure that I am going to take it. However I am a bit concerned about their very top heavy seniority list, and the amount of supposed lifers there.

I know you're not supposed the chase the quick upgrade, but it would be nice to go somewhere where I know it won't take 7 years to upgrade. Any thoughts on future SKW movement?

7 years to upgrade is confirmed by many pilots within the company. Senior guys aren't leaving as fast as you think. I'd worry about the 500 CRJ200's they have that the majors don't want them to fly.

500 CRJ 200's, eh? Might want to check your facts son!

I hear it's 7 if you don't care where you live. 8 1/2 for DEN and 12 for SLC.

I don't think they are parking that many 200's. Maybe you are including ExpressJet's 145's? Anyway, who cares? I wouldn't touch a regional with that many lifers with Ron Jeremy's uhhhhhh.... Not that it doesn't sound like a good place to work, it's just that I won't spend that much time at a regional as an FO period. The idea of the regionals is to get out as quick as you can. Not set up camp and be a lifer

To say something like that you must think you are making enough money at your regional?
