Do other companies give mil leave credit? I've worked for 2 regionals now, and it's the same story: I take mil leave when I want, any duty that gets dropped comes off of my credit for the bid - even if it falls below guarantee.

Since we use PBS, a preassigned drill weekend would not reduce our minimum bid requirement = they are considered days off. I was just curious if this is industry standard.

TurboProp,
From what I gather you are trying to see what type of "Virtual Credit" you can receive in a program like PBS while bidding with Military? The reason I assume this is because at Compass, they honor 2.5 hours/day of military taken of "virtual Credit" towards the 75 hour minimum required for the month to be bid. Why 2.5 hours? 75 hours in a month / 30 day bid period = 2.5 hours per day (Yes I am sure over 69% didn't need that explanation, but I provided it anyways).... That way when you bid your military you are not expected to bid still a full 75 hours on top of your weekend requirement or whatever military you take.
Per federal law, the company is required to give you the time of you need for military duty, to include the travel to and from the duty station. IE. If you need a drill weekend, technically you are legally allowed to take Military on that Friday and Monday as well.
I hope this answers your questions, if not then sorry for the useless information, but thank you for your service!

Thanks for the info, Mongo.
My primary concern is whether it's common place to not receive any type of bid credit for drill weekends. As it stands now, my company credits mil leave but not drill weekends (each are distinctly coded in PBS).

9E (endeavor) allows 2 methods. 1, blocked off and is prorated on guarantee. 10 days= ⅓ monthly credit lost. 2, days blocked off as "off days" and min days off prorated. Basically, you can take mil days as if it's your normal schedule and have credit adjusted (meaning paid by military) or keep your pay and use days off for mil duty (paid by company and military with a hit to overall days off). Not sure how else to do it. Get paid for your time as if flying for the company (overall) or work mil days on days off for extra money. Personally, I appreciate everyone who serves, so whichever way you decide is based on your own desires.
If your carrier is making you question it, contact your mil rep at your airline. If one doesn't exist, talk to the folks who are issuing military orders.

Thanks for the info, everyone.
Not having issues with my carrier. Just trying to gauge whether our methods of drill credit are standard - which seems to be the case.
Getting pay credit for mil days obviously doesn't make sense, but I have no clue what others have negotiated (some work places don't dock salary for performing mil duty).
