I thought xjet was losing the flying due to not being able to staff and Skywest not wanting to do it.

Maybe. It hasn't been announced where they're coming from. It could be the XRs or could be the garbage EPs and ERs that have been already been slated to be parked anyways.

Also even if it is XRs or LRs, you can't blame the TSA pilot group. They didn't vote in concessions to get it. Not like PSA. If anything it's United using the planes to whipsaw the pilot groups.

Welcome to the regionals. EVERYTHING is at the expense of someone else. The TSA guys took no concessions to get flying. Don't even attempt to lump them in with psa or gojets. It sucks for the xjt guys, but they should know it has nothing to do with tsa pilots.

Any idea where they would open a new base?

How is it at the expense of the L-XJT pilot group? These are part of the ~100 they are slated to lose, and management has made it clear that a/c retirements are keeping pace with attrition, so there's no need to furlough. This is just like when people start throwing the word scab around. You guys need to chill.

All regional flying is gained at the expense of another group. If it's actually a new contract its at the expense of the major pilot group. If it's a contract gained from another regional then it's at the expense of their group.

This is like a physics lesson.. Flying can neither be created or destroyed.. Just transferred from one company to another.. Whew! I just blew my own mind!

Just received clarification on the poorly worded memo. This is a growth of 18 planes, 18 will be replacements. So we are not doubling the fleet, but still significant growth

Where will these aircraft be based?
