While that may possibly happen, as of right now it is just rumor and speculation. They are waiting for a fleet study to come back sometime in the middle of January. If they were going to furlough due to the delay of the arrival of the new aircraft they would have done so already, IMHO. My guess is they are waiting for the fleet study to tell them the number of aircraft that should be operated.
The company knows that if they furlough none of the furloughed pilots will return. It is more cost effective to pay people for 6 months to sit on the beach than to furlough and have to retrain.
