You see my point now? The CEO's are not stupid, they know the seniority system makes it hard for us to move sideways, everything is stacked against us. To end it, leave the industry. But no, you won't leave, your deciding to stick around, and further the whipsaw.
This is what I find hilarious about the STW fb page... The answer is simple, quit. If every regional airline pilot quit tomorrow, things would change. Will never happen. So my point is, no pilot truly wants to end the whipsaw because they are unwilling to do what it requires.
Embrace it, live by it, decide by it.

First of all, I did leave (thank you very much) for a less than awesome non-regional airline job because I'd had enough. I didn't want to be a part of it any more, but thank you for assuming otherwise.
I see your point, and fundamentally it is true. However, the real truth is pilots are not going to just up and quit when they've got $100,000+ in debt for their education which they now realize is useless, seniority that they will have to give up, and families to feed.
You just make it sound a lot easier than it actually is. I'm not disagreeing that what you suggest would help, just that it's unattainable.
