Default Insanity of Concessions in 2015

Knowing how the industry of regional airline pilots is declining it would be interesting to see how things pan out in the new year.

Idiots will continue to trip over each other to take concessions for "flow through" or at least preferred interviews rather than tell the majors to smoke a pole and still get the interviews

I honestly don't think anyone gives a damn about flow. They want quick upgrade. See PSA and mesa.

Things won't get interesting until airlines start running out of people who got kicked out of college and busted their way through ATP Flight School never seeing the inside of a cloud. Followed up by 1500 hours of steep turns and pattern work. Passing the ATP written on the third attempt only to be instantly hired via phone interview the instant they falsify their logbook to hit 1500.

This! When the quick upgrades stop, so will the musical chairs...it will be interesting in the later half of 2015 to see if/how regionals try to attract qualified candidates

They will raise the hourly rate to $59/hr for 1st year FO, and only new hires are eligible for that rate.

They care about flow more than you think. That's the only way airlines will get people to show up for class. Mesa has the new 175s and basing in Texas, the two reasons people are showing up.

Every regional is going to have a quick upgrade soon. You don't have to sell yourself out to bottom feeder scum.

Not true. Envoy had zero apps in November. The day the vote went through they had 40. People keep blaming the pilots, but it's the new hires that keep running towards the concessions.

Actually ads pilot that's not true either. While it is true nobody met envoys secret requirements to be a valid candidate in August the 40 applications quote by our Mec president was fact checked and it turned out the info he had been told was wrong. So in reality still nobody is applying to eagle and we are no better off now than before. Many would argue we are worse off
