This is incorrect. We're still getting min guarantee of 75 hrs per agreement with the company.

As lousy as this place is some days, at least give out accurate info vs out and out lies and exaggeration.

This is true, however doesnt change the fact that many people still are not pay protected for cancelled flights they were not originally awarded. I still have lost 13+ hours of pay, and many of our first officers are in the same boat, guaranteed. Yes we had line guarantee pay protection for January...that was for one day of wx related cancellations. Now we are into February and today's wx cancellations is not part of that pay protection. Not exactly exaggeration and out right lies my friend.

And the company changes your guarantee if you trade trips...so if you have an 80 hour line, swap with another crew member to a 77 hour line, and you lose a day of pay now you only get paid 72 hours.

So did RAH and the union definitely reduce negotiations to once a month or is it just proposed that that is what the company wants to do as of now. Most of the folks ive spoken too seem quite optimistic that a new contract will be in place to vote on by the end of first quarter to mid summer the latest. I was told a mediator(s) will make the final call as too how many meetings will take place per month. With the announcement of Shuttle getting the 50 175s, is it possible new contract will be out for vote prior to the first plane coming on property?

The union and management were meeting twice a week engaging in direct negotiations. Now thanks to the utterly worthless NMB the company is using mediation as an excuse to meet just twice a month. The mediator and the NMB can't make the company do anything, especially not dictate how often they will meet our NC to negotiate. In case you are unaware, the NMB is not our friend and is in bed with the company and this will hinder any contract negotiation progress going forward. Why is RAH in any rush to get a labor contract? We are the lowest cost labor group and they are raking in money because of it. Make it look like we are trying by agreeing to a few inconsequential articles and then commence the dragging of the feet after less than 3 months of pushing "culture change" and "the pilots are our #1 customer". Yeah okay!!!

Management rejected the NC's FO pay raise LOA, is trying and will most likely park the 145's early to staff 170's(which will perpetuate our 7 year+ upgrade), has basically withdrew from negotiations and according to our NC has begun making it difficult for pilots to go to other companies with respect to PRIA requests. The United birds coming to Shuttle has no bearing on anything other than possibly providing new bases for our guys that live out west.

According to the union the company believes a mediated session is worth 3 regular sessions. That's why they cut back....but we will see if that really is the case. If they stay on their current course those estimates may be accurate but compensation, scheduling, and reserve are yet to be touched. Those are what will really take time to hash out.

What does pria has anything to do with going to other companies?

I thought the 175 was replacing the q400. So wouldnt they displace the Q pilots to the 175?

This week:

1. Cancel 145 upgrade class
2. Reduce bilateral negotiation meetings
3. Announce replacement planes (not growth) to different certificate = hoses 100s of pilots
4. Announce worse flight benefits than last year
5. Culture change checklist - Complete.

Standby for next week's episode of BB Cares.

Avoid this place like the plague. Eight years of negotiations should tell you how much BB gives a **** about pilots at his company. The same goes for the new guy they brought in to talk us all into dropping our pitchforks.
I hear there is going to be a huge displacement from the 145s. Sucks for the 2008 crew, but hopefully they can move on without the pic. I have friends in HQ and they are saying no downgrades but possibly no true upgrades for a year or so.

What are they doing with PRIA? They know the 145s are being parked, but they will wait until the last minute to release the info.
