,....And tell us again how long RAH management has been in, (or should I say "stalling"), contract negotiations? Is it 8 years or does it currently stand at 9 years?

8 years. But it will easily surpass 10 before any new TA comes out. They've essentially pulled out of "negotiations" again.

Won't work at this place. They will make an example of the first few pilots that try it and the rest will stop.

I have come to the conclusion that RAH is a sinking ship. Those who do not see it, cannot, because they would like to stay. They have kids & wives, have already upgraded, and or, are only several years from retirement.
I have been talking to several captains about upgrade times. The ones who are staying say 2-3 years (yeah right!!). The ones who are leaving for China or the majors, say anywhere from 5-10 years. I know I'm going to jump after less than a year and a half, here, got a couple of corporate gigs thanks to my previous 135 experience (and my current 121 time). Things have changed a lot in the past year and folks just don't see it, either because they have a vested interest in RAH, or are too lazy to think. And the contract......its a unicorn. By the time they sign that, it will be too late....it already is, as far as I and several of my fellow FOs are concerned. |

Stalling until such time as a new contract benefits only management is acting in bad faith and is morally and ethically wrong. May God bless. Yeah,.... whatever, Rev. Bedford. For a man who holds himself out as a high-minded Christian,...... he doesn't demonstrate his belief that the teachings of the bible apply to him nor does he seem to be too concerned about where he's going to spend eternity. It's called "hypocrisy". |
Republic used to be the premier airline if you wanted to stay a First Officer for your regional career but today they are second with Endeavor giving out $20,000 each year in retention bonuses to First Officers.
It's a good deal if you like Endeavors bases and do not care about upgrade, I would jump at it. |
Is RAH really that bad?
the railway labor act keeps unions in business that's why they don't fight it...without it we wouldn't really need unions you could say

Plenty of labor unions exist in the U.S., and they don't need any federal act to stay in existence. Moreover, there are (and have been) plenty of airline pilot groups who are (and were) non-union,....... (and they were all subject to the RLA). |
