You're giving up long term gain in the forms of: 1) the pay is atrocious & contract terrible even in comparison to other regionals, especially considering the larger aircraft, 2) you won't see higher pay for a while because upgrade is pretty lengthy and even though it's coming down due to lack of 2009-2011 hires, there's not a ton of hiring at the bottom of the list for current new hires 3) therefore career advancement is will be stagnated you'll lose out on money long and short term since upgrade times are high and there are a lot of lifers especially in the outstation bases (I'm not judging nor do I blame them because they have good QOL and don't wanna give it up)

The crews are mostly terrific, if you live in base QOL increases big time, the airplane is very advanced, the flying is pretty good on the American side anyway, and on the Shuttle cert some of the United stuff is really good too (I'm talking long legs, easy days)...but overall, I'd advise against going to RAH

Thanks for the honesty

If you are interested in being a career FO, you should consider Endeavor instead of Republic as you will get the additional $30,000 bonus' etc. even though you won't upgrade.

If you are interested in upgrading to Captain in this decade, you should instead consider airlines such as PSA, TSA, etc..

You will upgrade in way under a decade at republic.... Can't say that about Endeavor..it's definitely not as quick as tsa psa compass Mesa at the moment but still not even close to a decade.

Lol that's funny! My buddies 145 upgrade just got canceled at republic, so I'm thinking 9 years soon. Also you do realize if they park the 145s they will be no real upgrades this year!

Republic just cancelled the last 145 upgrade award. Beware!

Oh and pretty much stopped negotiations again...

Well Piedmont will be starting to train in the 145's in April for delivery in Jan. So I'm thinking the E-145's will go very junior due to the fact most senior Captains won't bid it because they like the Dash and there base or they are close to flowing.
Could be a great chance to get in early as they are getting 40 E-145 in 2016. That's over 3 planes a month and the flow will be increasing.

Where does it says 40??? I believe it's just 20 so far. Unless they do the single carrier ops certificate soon the flow is decreasing. USAir will decrease from 2 classes a month to 1. That's less flow, with the new AA contract I can see many defers going back to AA. There haven't been an interview since december, so I expect the hiring will slow for at least 2-3months.

Of course.. If the pilots at this place would stop being such good little boys and girls by dropping the brake early among other things so they won't show a delay, or flying fast, or not writing up every little thing wrong with the plane, or sprinting across the terminal just to make a deadhead for the company ....we do nothing to put pressure on management therefore they will do everything they can to slow negotiations.. It's pretty easy with the incompetent Terri Brown on their side.

You're right.... It's 20 for 2016. However our upgrade is already about to drop to 2 years. Upgrading 8 next month and training will start looking for Pilots for the EMB Slots in April.

We have no control of the flow but if you can get on a regional upgrade in 2 years get PIC for a year or so then you're way ahead of the game if you want to go to Delta, United or Southwest. And by chance you get turned down by those you still have the flow in your back pocket. Winning!!!!:D
