Post AWAC Exercises Option - Extends Thru Feb 2018

E-mail sent out by our CEO Christine Deister just a few minutes ago.

To most at AWAC this shouldn't be a huge surprise. Glad they announced this sooner than later. This should help attract some people again (well what people are left anyways).

Between now and Feb 2018 it is going to be a fun ride. Every year more and more move on with barely anyone entering this profession. I suspect this model will look vastly different in just a few short years.

Who knows what happens after 2018, but for all the haters wanting to have seen us go already - sorry.

Congrats guys. I think just about everyone knew that there is no way that AAG could stand to lose the amount of consistent lift that you guys provide. I'm happy it is working out for you.

How many planes are going to be parked? A few can mean a lot of things.

Glad to hear this, seems like AWAC is one of the few decent places left to work at the regional level.

Don't be. Be thankful you have a job at Awac with great contract, far superior health care, and good pay rates compared to your peers. 3 years at AWAC and you will be able to move on within that time. Hey you could be at Mesa or gojetz making no money at all and being abused for the time if that's your thing?

Did the email also say that you are "too expensive"?

You are partially right to be nervous for the future at any regional airline. You've probably seen all the retirement/hiring numbers and can see that the regionals won't exist in their current form or even exist at all 5 years from now.

The good news is that you should be at a career airline between now and then. You have a skill that is in great demand to many companies.

Do well in training, keep your nose clean, network, and do something's that are above and beyond to make yourself stand out from the crowd and you will be at a career airline before you know it.
