AWAC Exercises Option - Extends Thru Feb 2018

I don't see hate there. It's just reasonable questions. AWAC is and has always been a good airline. Maybe Parker didn't get what he wanted thus the short term deal.
Could be good for both. AWAC gets a few years of security to find another airline to contract for and AAG gets the added lift to get PDT, ENOY and PSA up to there projected levels.

The fast upgrade that folks at PSA talk of is mostly an empty promise. They may be expanding fast but unless you are already on the property, your relative seniority will be pretty awful as upward mobility will slow even as a captain...and the pay scale is still subpar while you wait for your AA flow which will slow down faster than you think.
It's like stocks...those who bought Google early are reaping the benefits, those who buy now will take a long time to to realize those benefits.
Glad PSA has growth but the FOs leaving AWAC for OALs probably have less than a year here if that...probably due to training failures. Anyone who has stayed longer is not smacking their forehead with regret and saying "Damn, I should have gone to PSA".
Is PSA awful? No...Just try not to oversell the benefits of running to PSA...especially in comparison to AWAC.

We have no true flow at PSA (yet) but if you have your 1,000 hours of 121 SIC you will be able to bid an upgrade class the moment your off of IOE. Guys that were November hires are being offered May upgrade classes, and the trend will continue throughout 2015 and early 2016. We aren't exaggerating what's happening here, it is happening.

With the amount of planes that they are still getting it wouldn't be forever. So what's worse? Being a reserve Capt. for less then a year or being a 4-5 year line holding FO???

I was just thinking who gives a sh! T about psa. I clicked on this to read about what awac people think and have to read page after page about other regionals.
My thought on the subject is it's not a surprise. I think everyone should have already known they would exercise the option. A few of the standard doom and gloom folks thought we'd close shop this year. It's a good thing for the pilot group who already work here.

I'm sure there are airlines besides AA that would play up. I actually think this buys AWAC time to utilize the potential worsening shortage and pick up flying that others can't staff. I'm not sure the demand is there yet (especially for the whole fleet), but the next summer or two will be very telling. Just my .02
