I agree... It will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple years. I'm sure AWAC will find its niche.

First thing in finding a new niche is getting into larger planes.

Next on the agenda...company will propose further concessions to get "costs in line" to compete for additional flying. The last man standing is the last to win new business. the choice will be...

1. Bend over and spread like the rest

2. Stand tall and let the owners pack their bags and leave letting it shrink or even die on the vine.

What is the possibility of being bought out by another airline? With the pilot pool drying up, could you see another airline purchasing Air Whiskey?

That's about as likely as PSA becoming the most respected pilot group in the industry!

I'm sure big money players have it down to a science. They know unemployed pilots need to stay current and will fly wherever they can if they had to. Comair guys are all over everyone's seniority lists. Some are flying routes they used to fly at Comair but for less money and a different badge.
It seems like we have two options...give them what they want and keep it going while making less money and paying more for benefits or fight for an even better contract and start looking for a new job come 2018.

That's exactly what they want you to think your two options are.

Unfortunately because that's exactly what the two options are.

I am not interested in taking any concessions. That's why I will be finding a new job within the next two years, or I will have no choice but to leave the industry. We had a real chance at changing things about a year or so ago, but PSA started a domino effect from which there is no recovery. When someone else will always do your job for a cheaper price, they will always be the ones who will be chosen to do so. Long gone are the days when quality actually matters. Management simply doesn't care any more.

What would a buyer be buying? A lot of old 50 seaters....not likely, but crazier things have happened...

Interesting perspective.....When PSA was told "accept the deal or be shut down" they did what they had to do. Similarly, Envoy said no to Parker twice before they got the "accept or we will shut you down" they accepted a flawed contract with no fleet size guarantee.

This is the Regional model. Accept it, get in and get out as soon as possible.
