That's because the test is written in English.

Wasn't it a different number on some of the newer aircraft? Don't forget about how many wheels are on the plane!

Oh, Harvell...

I'll second that. ASA/ExpressJet has had a fantastic training department for a long time. It is the exact opposite of the horror stories I've heard from more notorious carriers.

Third. But it is the only 121 training I've ever had. Like to hear from people who have been through more than one program, they can provide some factual comparisons or contrasts.

SkyWest has good training. The ground instructors do a good job preparing you for the written. That said if you are the guy that plays poker on hos phone all day you may fail. The sim guys also do a great job. The hardest 121 training I have been through was RegionsAir.

Been through republic's so called training twice (145 and 170). All done by flight safety and then a company check airman comes in for the checkride. If your flight safety guy didn't do a good job, you busted. They train you to pass a checkride. XJT trains you to fly a jet. Fantastic training at XJT. Two thumbs down for republic.

Historically SKW had a very, very low fail rate. Part of that was due to the quality of the program, but part was also due to selective screening at the interview. They changed (ie lowered) the interview standards and word is that new-hire fail rates are significantly higher now.

I spent 14 years at ASA / ExpressJet before going to a legacy carrier. I can confirm that ASA had/has a superb training program.

Can't comment on the ERJ side since I didn't go through it.
