Mistakes Happen!

Well, everyone reading this thread might not show honesty in their posts, but at least be honest with yourself. If you think this couldn't happen to you, you have must have missed class the day the went over the hazardous attitudes. At the very least I think everyone reading this should take a moment to figure out how you will change your personal checks before taking the active to ensure this doesn't happen to you.
These guys were not acting any differently than the gross majority of pilots flying today. In fact, this should make the many young pilots out there today realize that the quick upgrade or not getting hired at 300 hours might be due to the fact that the responsibility of taking that large piece of equipment out everyday is not owed them nor should be taken lightly. I think too often pilots today think that when they hit 1500 hours they DESERVE to rest their backside in that left chair.

Xtreme,
I do agree with you that these kinds of mistakes can be made by any of us.
I for one have made some mistakes that had the potential to be serious ones, and have been fortunate that they didn't turn out that way.
However, my intent with my posts in this thread has been to say that there needn't be any other assignment of blame than the 2 men at the controls. Yes it was a mistake, a tragic unfortunate mistake but the buck stops with the captain, and to a certain extent with the FO. Had it not been for their actions on that morning the accident wouldn't have happened.
But, there but for the grace of God go I...

Give me the address and I'll do it. Better yet, give me the addresses of every family that is suing and I will write them a letter SIGNED WITH MY NAME ON IT saying I am very sorry for their loss but they are being GREEDY AS HE!! I have always wanted to run into someone that is doing something like this and tell them they make me sick to their face actually.
