Question for CRJ drivers
#11
In my paper log book I log my CRJ time as CRJ2, CRJ7, and CRJ9. I fly all three. In my electronic log book LogTenPro I created three different types 1 for each all them having the model CL-65. So when I run a report it breaks my time down for the 2,7, and the 9.

Maybe they think that you're anal about silly stuff that doesn't matter...Who knows?

With that said, I log separately, but I wouldn't think twice if someone lumped it all together. It's not like 757 vs 767.

You are exactly right. I have a DHC-8 type rating, but flew the Q400 exclusively. I logged the time as DH8D, which is the model designator for the Q400. It might technically be a Dash 8, but I certainly wouldn't claim experience or proficiency in a -100, -200, or -300.

I would use the official Type Designator, both ICAO and the FAA use the same codes I believe:

If you find out later that you need a breakdown you can always sort by tail number.
