Default AWAC Pilots reach a TA with managment

Air Wisconsin Pilots:

Your MEC is pleased to report that ALPA has reached a tentative agreement (TA) with management on a new contract. The Negotiating Committee reported to the MEC that the two sides came to terms earlier today.

Our challenge in the five years since we began this bargaining cycle has been to defend and advance our contract while our segment of the industry has been buffeted by bankruptcies and whipsawing. We were able to successfully fight off concessionary demands from the company and we are excited to present to you a tentative agreement that ADDS value to your contract and your careers.

Good to hear! Hope it's a contract that will allow for growth.

You mean a concessionary one like PSA and PDT sold out the industry with?

I believe it's actually supposed to "add value to their contract and careers".

Hey now...my PDT contract adds a ton of value to both. I'm perfectly happy with what I have. Concessionary is a relative term and I'm not playing buzzword bingo with you people today.

That being said...good for my friends at AWAC I am happy for them and their careers.

I wish you guys the best. However You fools don't realize we were in the same position as you guys 2 years ago. Just be glad you weren't part of the WO'ed Trio to get played. Yes it has worked out for us and what I'm hearing is we've had more then just a few AWAC guy coming up for interviews over the next few weeks.
Piedmont held the line for many years. Go back and research history and you'll find we (PDT) were the front runners for the regional contracts. We actually fought to make the regionals a better place and many other regionals fought hard to have the contract we did. I was never here then but I've heard the stories from our pilots that have been her 25-30 years. AWAC is like PDT one of the last to hold the line but you guys haven't yet seen a gun held to your heads.
That's why I say good luck. We've been there and done that.

Yes, but I realize the pressure these guys are under. They need to get there fixed cost in order and pray that one of the majors will sign off on a deal that Parker wasn't willing to do.

Good Pilot group and hopefully they will find a home over the next couple of years.
