How can anyone justify spending $80,000-$100,000 to get their ratings for a $30,000/year job? Everyone says 12 month upgrades and puppies and rainbows. Tell that to the guys that have been stuck in the right seat for 8 years. There are guys that were stuck on reserve for 4 or more years and I don't see how they did it. The flying part of the job is the only good part. The schedule sucks and being away from home for weeks on end sucks. Do yourself a favor and get a real career.

If you live in base it's one of the easier jobs out there.

If you commute, well, lets just say try to live in base.
