Why do so many people in this job complain about not being home every night. Did you not realize that's how it works? You wanna pick up trash 12 hours a day 5 days a week? No one is stopping you and you'll get to sleep in your bed every night.

Thanks if you can shed some knowledge
All awesome. You will make captain in zero to never years. You will likely get picked up by a major in two to never years.

Hope that helps!

Honestly equate your question to this...

Hey guys! I'm a baseball player in college. I know Triple A pay sucks, but how long until I'll be a starter? How long until I'm picked up by the Red Sox?

According to that advertisement at the bottom of this page he could upgrade in 18-24 months and flow to AA in 3-5 years if he gets hired at PDT.

Yes because we ALL know that whatever management says is usually true!

We get close. The first half of this month I am within my 5 hour buffer of 100 in 672. But most lines are three days of flying, and one of reserve. Home reserve rules BTW. Most lines are built to 70 to 80 hours. But the credit is around the 110 hour mark.

Say what you like, but the Red Sox commuter clause is totally worth the pay cut!

I'm home every night (or at least during the day if I fly split duty stuff). Haven't taken out the overnight bag since February, and that was only because I bid that way. -- and I'm not all that senior in domicile - middle of the pack. In the last 3 years I've only done two four day trips - only because I wanted to as they had 30 hour overnights that I wanted.

20% of the parings at SkyWest allow that. Another 10% are 2 day trips. You'd average 2 nights a week at a hotel.
