Back on topic. If people unite against the real enemy here, which is corporate greed and NOT do what PSA, Piedmont and Envoy did, we have a real chance at making this industry better. Regionals will shrink regardless as demand for pilots climbs much higher than the supply. Atleast we can enjoy a nice liveable wage and decent QOL, while you wait for that mainline phone call. Even for the lifers, being at a regional shouldn't be a curse either.

You can't legislate wages! Just look what 15 an hour is doing to small businesses. This is our fight and we all need to stand up and say no! It's the jump the line folks that are still killing this industry! Our decade of SCABS! As long as we have people chasing a dream were all screwed!

If I ever get to fly with one of those jumping the line SCABS I'll look out the window the whole trip! Of course after I express my feeling about his/her choices. Your all fodder and need to be treated as such!

What does a stock buy back mean?

It means the legacy carrier is so incredibly profitable they have no use for the money, so they are giving it back to the shareholders.

Think about that. They have no use for these profits. They choose not to invest these profits in you.

They do not need this money to invest in,

New aircraft

Better facilities

Reducing debt

Reductions pension obligations

Eliminating bankruptcy concessions imposed on their employees

What do the finest investors in the world think of stock buy backs?

A complete waste of money.

When management tells you they cannot afford to increase pilot compensation to appropriate levels, simply respond,

BE PART OF THE SOLUTION

You're not entitled to anything. You don't deserve anything. Pilots are all about complaining but fall real short on the doing something department. It's always someone else's problem. Alpa has been working on it for 30 years but don't worry real change is right around the corner.

Alpa works well enough at the mainline level but is a conflict of interest at the regional level. Alpa should be fighting for our destruction, not holding seminars on fee for departure interview tips. Always the wrong agenda.
