I estimate at least 5-6% of your salary in profit sharing for 2016 if American nets $4 Billion.

You guys need to work on your napkin math. Using 2015 numbers:

5% of 7.6 Billion = 380 Million.

380 Million divided by 110,000 employee's = $3454.55

Many pilots will likely receive a larger share due to higher annual earnings (of course this is assuming another profitable year similar to 2015). Your numbers could be accurate if 2016 profits are down around -79% from 2015.

You actually believe a PSA CRJ200 FO is going to receive the same profit share as a 25 year 777 captain?

That's some pretty impressive optimism.

No. Of course not. What I meant was many Regional Captains, some FO's and all the Mainline pilots, (as I said in the earlier post) will likely receive more than the mean number.

Nowhere did I say a regional FO would get more than a 777 Captain. Obviously they will get a larger piece due to higher annual earnings. I'm comparing pilot groups to the agents, baggage handlers, FA's, secretaries, office workers, and all the many thousands of people/groups working here making quite a bit less money.

To correctly calculate the percentage each employee will receive in profit sharing checks, you need to add up all the salaries of all employees eligible for profit sharing and use a formula which includes the 5% of AA's pretax income being offered.

I agree pilots will probably receive more, but you implied we would get somewhere near the $3,454 and that's highly unlikely.

Sorry for the confusion then, You are right, First year pilots probably don't earn enough to hit that number, for clarity.
