Capt. Sully types out there, I have yet to meet some one who flew with him or worked with him that had anything nice to say about him. Arrogance, superiority complex, total disrespect for anyone younger, and a view that if you weren't prior military, you're not a real pilot. Yes, I could just imagine working with people like that! I am sure they are textbook examples of CRM. At least the younger guys coming from the military have shown to be humble professionals.

No one is *gasp* trying to say a military pilot with zero 121 experience will be a better pilot in the beginning than a 5,000 hour regional pilot. The point you seem to be missing is that the big boys and girls are less interested in your flying skills than they are in the professionalism, leadership skills, and ability to operate in very high demand situations. A monkey can be taught to fly. But a monkey cannot be expected to lead people, be a manager, etc. That is why I think the majors are more interested in military folks, regional pilots with degrees, those who volunteer, and particularly those who have held management positions.
If you're a pilot, you can fly an airplane. If you're a leader, you can bring more to the table. And that is by no means limited to military folks. But from my short time around this particular block, the ones I hear of getting the calls do more within the company than push hunks of metal around the skies.

When ex-military guys are doing interviews who do you think they're gonna
want see getting hired? Nobody is saying the military pilots are inadequate
but they aren't all Chuck Yeager's either. We've all flown with good/bad pilots and you cannot judge the book by the cover.

Can someone please give us the Gojet numbers for the last few months and where you poor guys came from?
Gojet has been hiring (or offering to hire) street captains. I understand there were a couple of Express Jet guys who came over. I bet things here were quite a shock. Good luck to them and the others.
Does anyone have the numbers? We don't have a good place to look and see here.
