Show me where that comment does not apply.......anywhere. When it comes to management it's just a matter of degree.

I don't care what you say, no regional reserve guarantee is more than 75 hours/month. it is not fair to talk about lineholders because once you are a lineholder, you usually always go over guarantee and at least where I work you get time and a half for it! I was talking about a reserve pilot! I understand that living on the west coast, that unless you want an 11 year upgrade like at horizon, that there are not too many good choices of regionals and skywest is easily the best. And your union blast, what if your roles were reversed with the ASA guys and you got the short end of the stick? I don't think you would be praising the almighty Skywest ideology like you were earlier. these guys and gals have lives outside of flying and they are really getting the shot end of the stick! I am not saying that the pilot group has much to do with that but it just shows how management values the almighty $$$$$ over their employees happiness.
Since when... I know this isnt a Horizon post but you are wrong again. Horizon has a long upgrade but its not that long. If you do the calculations, it is better to go to somewhere like Skywest. Here is my logic. You suffer you first year pay $19 per hour FO vs $28 hour FO. Second year for most guys at Skywest they can atleast hold Bro captain spots. Second year captain pay vs second year FO pay is much better plus you are getting PIC which is what really matters if you are trying to move on quick. If i could go back in time, i would choose Skywest

People may argue that the pay scale is slightly higher than most but it is just a facade! that is how they fool you! they don't have duty or trip rigs which makes a huge difference in your paycheck. they have a bidding system that only benefits the senior people in the company. High priced benefits for your family, No trip touching when it comes to vacation, unless you plan on moving they have no commuter clause, reduced pay in training, double occupancy in hotels, pay for your own jepps. Yeah guys, it really sounds like a great place to work! I heard their INTVW is like five stages long! Come on, do these recruiters realize that your interviewing for a $19/hr regional job and not a major!. No union protection, so plan on being fired at any moment with no say in it! Plus, with how short they are on people plan on being junior-manned nonstop! Don't be drawn in by the shiny looking jet! I guarantee you'll live to regret it later!!!! You've worked way too hard to get to this point, don't sell yourself out to a company that will do whatever it takes to pay you less! Hold out for a company that does'nt keep lowering the standard like i.e. xjt, comair, awac, or horizon!
If it sucks so bad then why are all their newhire classes full of former part 121

Xjt. an uncertain future, if they are so great why are their mins the lowest in the industry? Seems to me if it was such a great place people would be breaking the door down to get there.

Comair. No Comment, Their contract will be worse than mesas' come the end of the month, if they even survive that long.

AWAC. They couldn't win a contract if they bought it, oh wait! thats exactly what they did and the only reason they still are flying.

Horizon. Yeah go there and wait 7 years to upgrade on a trash 8-200

So really Skywest is the best. They have everything, growth, pay, workrules, bases and the hottest F/As in America.

I'm sick of hearing "thats not true, thats not true" argument about skywest. Lets hear some facts from your "agreement" (and these CAN & WILL be checked for accuracy).

What are your trip rigs, duty rigs? do you have mechanical pay, cancellation pay, junior-man pay, deadhead pay, taxi pay, customs pay, etc? Do you have trip touching drops for vacation? Retirement benefits??

Also, I'm curious...it seems the skypest people are very quick to throw out the "we get bonuses" excuse. Is there anyone out there who will willingly discuss what they received in bonuses for 2006?

Thanks!

Dude, you are STILL a tool, are you ever going to get a clue?

And with what you said about the Comair folk...they are the reason you have what benefits you do at skypest. They are the reason that the pay got better for everyone at the regional level. They are the reason YOU got paid during training there. Jackass.

I've flown with several FOs in the last couple years that spent 3-5 years at AMF, and then came to SkyWest with well over 1000 PIC Turbine. They found they coundn't make another move without the 121 time. One guy had over 4000 PIC turbine. I've also flown with a guy from Airnet that had been a Lear captain, he also had a couple thousand TPIC. Every regional out there will give you a better schedule than AMF.
Might not be the case for those guys, but maybe not everyone at freight companies like AMF WANTS to work at a 121 carrier. I have quite a few friends who went that route for a couple of years and found EXCELLENT jobs in the corporate world. Talk about QOL, schedules, and pay to boot! Makes all regionals suck, and yes, even skypest!

I think this is the only place pilots will actually argue that they have good jobs. Usually all I hear is regional pilots complaining about how bad off they are. It would be nice if the thread was a little more positive rather than combatitive, but at least most of you guys are happy with your carriers

I'm not sure how my post comes across, but I'm looking to turn it positive. I'm looking for someone to post the FACTS about Skywest once and for all, to end the speculation about their work rules and bonuses. (I'm only adding this to bump this up the list.)

I see someone answered the other thread. Thank you!!
