42 last month at Envoy.

This month of classes is much more important on seeing how Envoy can fill classes with only offering ORD for a base.

Agreed. Sept and Oct (and beyond) are going to be interesting.

As of now, this seems to be a summary:

Endeavor, Skywest, and Compass are able to fill classes.

Commutair, Envoy are doing ok.

Republic is getting some.

PSA, Mesa are having very few show up for class.

Any numbers on ExpressJet, TransStates, AirWisconsin, Horizon, Piedmont?

Question (I assume your at Envoy): What made you choose Envoy over the other carriers?

Do you regret that decision? If so why?

If you're really new to the 121 scene, and that was a question instead of a statement, then I apologize.

I came to Eagle (now envoy) nearly 11 years ago because at the time it was the largest and most stable of the regionals. All of the rest were in the continuous whipsaw, when Eagle had the 16 year contract and good pay rates.

While I don't regret the decision per se, what upsets me the most is that this successful, profitable company with excellent metrics has been decimated from the hostile takeover by US Airways, all because they wanted to reduce our costs by a few measly dollars per block hour. The joke always used to be that AMR would step on a dollar to pick up a quarter. Now, AAG steps on a hundred to pick up a penny, and then doesn't understand why the operation has collapsed. Everything is about cheapness to them, not the quality that is sacrificed.

Between the mentality of management, the destruction of morale, and the degradation of our QOL, it's made me seriously question if I want to spend the rest of my career working for a company managed by Doug Parker.

From the seniority list Mesa has the following:

25 June
15 July
19 Aug
8 Sept

😂The regionals are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Regionals would go away tomorrow if every pilot refused to work at one. Bottom line is that they still have a place in the market, and how long they last is to be determined by the market. So yes, they aren't going anywhere.

You are correct but the market has changed dramatically in the last several years. If JO and his minions haven't figured that out they are taking a big risk. If they wait until new-hires stop showing up there's a good possibility it will be too late. If he had vision he would get in front of this thing but I'm afraid his thinking is still in the past when pilots were plentiful and the pipeline was full of eager young souls. I don't think that's the case now.

Which begs the question, what would Mesa have to do, in order to fill classes? He can't grow without full classes, and retaining current pilots.
Would industry standard pay and benefits be enough?
