MKUltra,
I am current right now. Not sure I understand why I care to upgrade in the regionals if my goal is to quickly move to the majors. How does the growing company help me? I think I'd rather find the easiest commute for the best pay, and hope to get the call inside of 12 months. Perhaps I should have put more of my stats in the original question. I am just shy of the 1500 total time, but I am a current F-15 pilot with over 1000 PIC, and an ATP due to the FSDO approving my personal logbook with 0.2/sortie. From what all the airline prep folks are telling me, I just need to get over the 1500 minimum, and I should be competitive for the majors. So, I literally just want the fastest 100+ hours possible, in a situation my family can live with...but with the possibility of having to wait patiently if things don't happen as fast as we'd like. Thoughts?

then don't go to expressjet. Do you not know how reserve, seniority, line holding, flight time building works? No probably not you'll probably just argue with your sim instructors "in the f15 we did it like this..." Which is the vibe you give off reading this post. Douche.
It sets the tone for the trip right off the bat.. I fly with many military guys out there that are awesome and I appreciate all their service since I'm too much of a puss to be in a position to be shot at.
But when the guy next to me wants to measure schlongs I hate that trip from the start.

No dog in the fight, but I think JD meant that he doesn't need the PIC time from the left seat in the regionals, since his f-15 time is probably all PIC. I didn't see the comment as arrogant, just facts...give him the benefit of doubt before casting him in a negative light. Plus, and all he needs is a bump in flt time and some 121 experience on his resume.
There are some good points here though, he may find himself at said regional for longer than he wants and a stay at a place with a 7 year upgrade ($37/HR) vs 2 years ($63/HR) throws a tough variable in the equation. This is a good one for Albie... I think he's a 15 guy too.

Obviously someone in JDfly's situation should look at as many aspects of the regionals he's looking at as possible. It is important to have a Plan B and a Plan C if, as has been mentioned here and elsewhere, the music stops and he gets stuck at whatever regional he's at.
Those other factors -- upgrade time, pay scale, other benefits and bonuses -- are important to consider, they are just secondary to the main QOL threat that he's most likely to face (base location, and thus commute difficulty). If the basing/commute is pretty much equal between two carriers, then the 2-year or 5-year pay and progression outlook should be a tie-breaker...but not the other way around.

Hey guys,
I'm definitely not that kind of mil guy that walks into a room and says "look at mine". In fact, as a non-academy, previous navigator, and low hours for a retiring guy, I'm just the opposite. The guys you hate wouldn't give the Regionals a glance...they are too good for that. I honestly think they are the small minority (pun intended). I'm just looking for help, and sometimes it seems like I'm getting advice for someone in different shoes. I want to fly bad. I don't mind doing time in the regionals. And if there's a good chance I'll be still at a Regional in 7 years, I want to make a wise choice. But I've been told (again, don't take as arrogance), that mil guys with 1000+ PIC and 1500+ total are getting snapped up immediately. If this is true, I'm looking for QOL over the shorter term--1 to 2 years maybe. I apologize for my "...maybe I didn't give you my stats..." crap line. I didn't realize how it came across here. I see now it sounds like a douche. Cut me a little slack. These forums don't allow you to really 'hear' a guy, and it's hard to mine for data without trying to be specific. I've been given some great insights here, but I'm still swimming in contradictory advice, so I keep asking questions....

Why would going with PSA rule out AA. Would going with Endeavor rule out Delta? I see the possibility of getting in a long line at the feeder. Can I not be a free agent, or will they see that I'm currently at a feeder and just let me sit 'cause I'm a sure thing eventually?

If you are a PSA pilot, AA won't interview you out of seniority order due to the flow agreement.
It is a different story at places that don't have a flow agreement, and you would be able to be called for an interview out of seniority order.

Is that the case for Endeavor? The way I read the Endeavor-to-Delta (EtD) plan, it is voluntary thing. If hired, I wasn't planning on signing up for it because it would prevent me from getting a call immediately, but I can't help but feel that I would appear to be a done deal by Delta if I'm already flying their "feeder". Maybe better to go with a non-affiliated company like ExpressJet, if PSA and Piedmont kills me for AA, Endeavor kills me for DAL, and CommutAir kills me for UAL.... I don't want to rule out any of the big three.

Here's a legitimate question- if you're flight current, have you contemplated the idea of ULCCs like Spirit or Frontier, or ACMIs like ATI or Atlas that let you be home based?
I've heard the WO argument go both ways. A lot of people say that at AAs WOs you can't interview out of turn but very once in a while you find a guy that knows a guy who pulls it off... I know several guys who have apps in at AA as well as all the other legacies.
I haven't heard the same restrictions from any of the preferential interview programs at DAL or UAL.
People I know at Expressjet like the company, the work rules etc. and have no ambition to leave for a regional with a worse contract for a faster upgrade. People I know with PSA backgrounds have either left the company or are counting down the days until they leave because they hate it.
