Being in a similar boat I'll pass on my experience here. Others have already said that the names will not be printed so you don't have to worry about it.

When you go to interview, you should still bring your military log books with you in addition to your clean printed civilian one. When you turn them in, just let them know that all your military flights have been captured in your civilian book. Odds are they might check a couple of flights to make sure they match, but other than that they will look at the civilian book as that is what they are used to looking at.

Doing this will show that you care about your flight time and the way you keep your records. I personally would not do any conversion for military flight time to civilian as there is no official way of converting it. Some airlines allow for a conversion, but that is specific to that airline. With a rotor transition pilot, there really isn't much to be gained by trying to do one either.

Feel free to PM me as you work through your log book if you have specific questions on how to interpret some of the information we capture in the military logs into civilian logs.

I have LTP v6, which is a bit of an older version, because I didn't want or need the upgrade to v7. Now that they've released a newer version again that is subscription only, I will likely not use LTP anymore. I can't even update my MacOS (I'm on 10.10 Yosemite) unless I update LogTenPro!

How was importing your logbook over to Mccpilotlog from LTP? What do you like better about it? I'm leaning to switch as well. I've liked LTP until I have to print my logbook, and then I've had numerous formatting issues with stuff not fitting on the lines properly.

I printed my mcc pilot logbook a few months ago. I used the Jepp template and took the pdf to fedex with my real jepp logbook and said I wanted it to be on the same size paper and the same color. The guy measured the paper and printed the pdf out on the paper and it looks just like the real thing. Next time I will pay for a nicer cover for a mainline interview but will not change anything else. MCC prints very well even when the preview looks a little off. Margins were great and you can tweak them to what you want if it's not what you want.

I ended up splurging and getting a logbook cover from Customers, thanks for your business! New binders to be shipped in early April! - Logbook Solutions-Home. I don't think I would recommend getting the paper from them as it is pretty pricey. I have a nice laser printer at home and a two hole punch so good heavy weight paper from Staples and punching the holes myself worked just fine. End product is a very nice professional log book. I use LTP and it formats just fine.

I convinced all of my students to get MyFlightbook also, loved it for CFI (then you don't have to log it if your students do the flight just transfers.). Also it got them thinking of the future.

However, AFTER I printed it out (which was just a hassle, even Wrong.. and not even close to as professional as I wanted it) got a job at a regional. I have swiftly changed to MCC as the schedule import is simple. I don't want to manually log flights when your doing a lot of flying.

I found that MCC has wayyyyy better printing options, better logging format, and it clearly tailored to 121 operations. You can still do 91 and CFI work and get along no problem. The import from MyFlightbook was simple enough.

You get what you pay for that's for sure.

Thanks for the response. I can see where trying to print a nice presentation from MFB can be a hassle. I am going to download the free version of MCC to check it out, if I like it I will upgrade.

Download the csv, the data file, and then MCC has you send it to them for a free conversion to their format (easier than manually doing it and only takes 2-3 days) and then you'll get the file back, upload/import wizard it to MCC, fix some of your small errors that MyFlightbook never caught.

I worked on the free version of MCC before I paid the enterprise version to know it would work out. They have great "how to" videos online if you run into any issues that help out pretty effectively. You can PM me if you run into other issues. I did all this last week.

Anyone around CO Springs willing to take a look at my logbook? Most of us Army rotor guys just kind of fill one out, but not sure if we're doing it the way airlines would like to see (in addition to a -12 printout and 759).
