Right now, FO reserve times range from 3 months (CMH) to 1 year (PHL). These are based off of DOH, so it's closer to 1 month/10 months if you pull training out.

However, these times can fluctuate dramatically based on hiring patterns, base awards, and route selections, so don't base your plans off of what you see here. YMMV, caveat emptor, etc. etc.

Thanks IFly,

How often are new hire classes running? 1 per month? 2 per month?

What about class sizes?

Torn between Republic and Endeavor. I think I read somewhere contract negotiation for Republic is in 2018 along with SAP implementation is making me lean towards Republic.

We’re running a class every two weeks. Class sizes seem to be between 12-20, depending on a number of factors.

I’m not a good source for contract/bidding info, so someone else will have to answer that one.

As for which to choose, really weigh what’s important to you. Is it the base? The equipment? Money/benefits? Culture? QOL? Flow/no-flow? Bragging rights? The main reasons I chose Republic are the Indianapolis base and the E170, but everyone has different priorities.

This is true. I put in Sept for ORD in December and was asked if I could fill the void starting in Oct. I could have held a line in Nov too as the guy below me for Oct was holding a line.

What’s MCI/ORD looking like? Torn between a couple regionals but republic is up at the top because MCI is drivable and ord is about as easy as a commute can be from where I live. Mainly looking for QOL right now.

Most junior MCI for November is an April 2017 hire.

Right now 3 to 9 months.

Be very careful to chose an airline based on bases. Bases come and go very quickly. Miami can stay but can also close depending on where AA needs our planes and pilots.
