September's info at the Bottom. Even though other classes outside of this month have been mentioned, they will not be included in this month's update.

Sorry for the delay on this month. I was putting a roof on my house and then had a four day trip...

Default Bases Explained?

So as someone that would be starting October, likelihood of getting EWR or LGA?

Well you'll have to fight me for them, for starters.

Seriously though, everyone I've talked to has said we have a pretty good chance at getting NYC, and people have been getting it most classes except for the class before this last one. If we were not given NYC at first, we would probably still get transferred pretty quick, although that would only kick in after 4 months. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't really matter where I am while I get reserve over with, it's just going to suck, and I'd just as soon not spend it in the big apple, as much as I want to hold a line from there.

EWR and LGA will always be junior. Perhaps you won’t get it on your first bid but you’ll have it by the end of training.

Right now CMH is where they need pilots the most. Some in the class ahead of me bid put. We are about to bid Feb base and I know many in my class that want other bases. We should know what the company needs on the 25th.

So as of right now we have 3/21/17 class date in Miami?

I saw that, but then don't see any movement going into Miami. I'm guessing these are not awarded, probably backfill happenings? Not sure how the base stuff works just yet. All I know is I see a 3/21 in Miami and I'm pretty much the next class 4/18. Hoping to get in there before April 2018. Seems like things into MIA have slowed down big time.

The current junior man in MIA right this second is the 3/21 DOH person. There were no awards for MIA, either via vacancy or backfill, for the January 2018 awards.

Yes, but when did they get there that's what I'm wondering? I've looked at the awards and haven't seen Miami awards for the last quarter of this year.

Another FO said they spoke to a Miami gate agent and they claim all the flying has been slowly making its way to Envoy. Of course, this is hearsay.

I don't see Republic losing Miami anytime soon, but really messing up flow down there.

Four people were awarded MIA last month. It's right there in the list in this thread from August's awards...

Our American side is not growing, it hasn't had a new plane since 2015. The only thing that will happen is flying may be shuffled around, which is what happened when we shut down the ORD AA flying. Those six planes went to MIA and PHL.

Our flying isn't going to Envoy. We are taking some of their routes in addition to adding new routes while AA down gauges some of our routes and gives them to Envoy to serve with 145's.

Miami gate agents are also some of the worst in the AA system.

Interestingly there were twelve ORD FO vacancies for the January vacancy bid. Not only that but they weren't all filled! Haven't seen that in quite awhile. At least for one or two months, ORD may go much more junior first quarter 2018.
