Wow. There were tons of CA's that did this when I was there several years ago. I tried to explain to them the stupidity of this. They all acted like they were smarter than everyone else. Guess not. Another beauty is the guys that would hold the toe brakes and release then reset the parking brake to get the on time departure. When mainline said you had to call for push within a time limit from blocking out they would call for push and then cancel right after with a mountain of bags still sitting on the ground. And then there is the hand the paperwork out the window crowd. Sorry, I'm having flashbacks. They always thought there would be a prize waiting for them if they did these things.

Republic is not a commuter friendly airline. Management has stated numerous times (on video) they want you to live in base. Outstations will be impossible to get commutable on both ends, but with seniority you will be able to hold commutable on one end.

ORD is a hub and very commutable. It’s also senior for FOs and very senior for captains (about 12 years to hold reserve, 15 years for a line). If you live on the east coast DCA or even EWR isn’t too bad. Stay away from outstations.

Commuted LGA to RSW without any problem for months, I had a choice between 4 B6 and 4 DL flights. I now live 2 hours from base and have no worries with my trips.

Like I said if you live in base you should have no problems in base. Not hard to find the video of Bedford saying he wants his pilots to live in base.

LGA is not an outstation, so yes it is more commuter friendly. If you live on the east coast it may work out, but other regionals have far better commuter clause and company provided hotels.

Don’t know how long you have been at republic, but let’s see how you feel this time next year. And no I’m not a lifer, on my way out very soon. Still will not let company recruiters to spread false info. Best way to get info about republic is to find a crew and ask them.

what are the trips like in MIA? Considering Republic because of the MIA base and I can probably drive 3.5 hrs down there.

Probably 18 months to hold a line in MIA, and it’s a 2 hour call out, unless you get long call. Maybe take a look at Envoy.

Absolutely untrue, I got MIA in Nov 16 and got a line in April 17. Guys coming behind me have had lines much earlier. 6-8 months for a line in MIA... LOL...

I dont care about BB's speech, I never watch them, doesn't control my flying.
MIA has the most AA flying out of all RAH bases and it's been on the increase for the 5 last months in a row, including Jan 18 (its all on Market Planning for your info). so, don't care what BB says, been in the company for 2 years.
What's scary is that you're spreading as much wrong info as the company recruiters.

New hires need to be careful with those company recruiters fed on cool-aid as well as those bitter burnt out guys.

don't listen to him, he's way out of line with his numbers.

The most junior guy in MIA was hired 03/21/17
