It's all spelled out pretty clearly on Republic's career site. There are no delays between training stages at Republic unlike other Regionals. From my first day (INDOC, add 10 days if you need to go to CTP) to off of IOE was just shy of 3 months by like two days, and that included a 10 day break around Thanksgiving. It is pretty streamlined and the training department does a good job keeping things moving.

There is nobody that is going to check or even ask if you are going home each weekend and there is no penalty for doing it. You are your own man and you can do what you want when not required to be there. However, if you have a failure or two and you are known for leaving every weekend, you are going to get less leeway then others.

What is your new hire training failure rate? If someone has a good attitude and is working hard will they provide extra sims and or more time on IOE if needed?

Yes, to a point. The hardest working guy in our class, the first and last guy in the study room, and an all around good guy washed out.

What was his background though?

My class, same thing happened, but he came from a 152 instructing position with hardly any complex aircraft experience. He also had other issues and ultimately was not allowed to do his checkride. We never got the full story though.

While being early and staying late in the classroom can be beneficial, it can also hurt you. Our class did group studies, which allowed us to build off of everyone's experience and knowledge and explain things in a clearer way than what our Flight safety instructors could. I do not remember him taking part in those studies.

By study room I meant the one in the hotel where group study takes place. Always annoys me when people ask "but what was his background". My class had a person from each of the generic paths to Part 121 wash out and also had people from both do real well.

Cheers

Yep, same question. What was generated (at least to me) by reading the company website that says training pay is $60/day?

Surely that’s a stipend on top of actual, adult human salary?

I read it as that is your pay per day. That’s it/everything, you get a room paid for and you get that $60/day. You get guarantee 75hr pay starting on day 31. Were you thinking you get more during training? Not making $ for the company yet so you really should not expect much. Doesn’t seem much different than other companies as far as this sort of pay.

Most places give MMG plus per diem.
