When I went through it was 2 weeks for indoc at Indy. Then home for 2 weeks for systems self study. Then back for 2-3 weeks for systems review, systems integration training, and FTD flying. Then you could go home for a bit or strait to sims for 2 weeks in CVG or STL. All depends on your sim partner pairings. We are AQP now so I'm not sure how the timeline has changed. It's probably similar as far as time away from home. Plan on not doing anything for at least 2 months. Even when you're home for systems study they expect you to do 8 hours a day and they monitor your progress.

You'll be able to take notes with the notebook they give you during Indoc, but really, most of Indoc is introducing you to the various documents we have (FOM, SOP, OpSpecs, etc.) and where to find information yourself.
That's what the Indoc test at the end of Indoc and General Operating Subjects (GOS) is, an open-book test to indicate that you've reached a minimal level of understanding of how to use the manuals to get information.
I don't think I saw a single person with a computer in our Indoc class.

I have my training class coming up in about a month and I just recently received an email with some attachments (benefits, FAQ ect)with a approximate training timeline of 9 weeks. Is that accurate at all? Or could I expect something along the lines of 3 months +?

My training outline was 3.5 months. Current pacing is showing a *slight* improvement. I would guess about 2.5 - 3 months.
