I was hired on 10/2/18

I got a line this month in MCI, the only other base this junior is PIT. EWR is also on the junior side.

ORD MIA and IAH are the most senior FO bases though ORD is growing a little and letting more junior FOs in but it will still be a long wait for a line

Oh and I had a 10 week wait after indoc it was great

Haven’t heard much on the commuting policy for RAH. Anyone willing to help me get informed on the topic? Do y’all get hotels or show two attempts of getting on a commute home before calling CS? Things like that. Thanks!

No commuter hotels. Although some guys were offered them during OE You have to have 2 flights that get you to base, the first being 2hrs prior to show time the second being 30 minutes prior to show. If you miss both of those you can use the commuter clause protection. This only protects you from getting an occurence, there is no pay protection with this.

I don’t believe the contract specifies 2hrs/30mins prior. Don’t you have a ref for that?

That’s a moving target, because all bases have a mixture of trips. If you want west flying, then you want to be in a UA base. Typically those trips have longer flights. I think MCI still does MIA-MCI, which is AA. Long flights aren’t much fun in the 170.

I’ve never heard of that.
Republic has a 45 minute show. Pick 2 flights that arrive at or before that show time. You can pick 2 flights on different companies that leave around the same time and arrive about the same time. Hopefully the gates are next to each other. You also have to be realistic. If you list for flights out from Charlotte out of E30 and also A-27 they can see it’s a 25-35 minute walk in between gates.

As for OE they call you a couple days before hand and you can ask for a hotel. I was lga based but lived near Dca and scheduling let me do OE out of DCA so I didn’t need to commute.

Following systems review, which is about the halfway point of training the break between starting electronic flat panel trainers/sims is anywhere between 3 days to 3 weeks.

All in all it will take me 3 months and 3 weeks from start of training to the ATP
Checkride.

Indoc has too many PowerPoint slides to be useful ~2000 or so slides. However, it is supplemented by great instructors. The primary instructor Ryan is who we had. Ryan was great, to include all of the instructors who spoke in our class.

I would recommend republic airways. Going through training it is clear that we are one of it not the best regional airline.
