DL Growth
Internal memo out today highlights the following:
-30 175s, starting in October, running through Q2 2020. Unclear if these are new frames or being transfered from another carrier (see below).
-Almost 100% certain it's coming at the expense of Compass, who is losing their DL flying.
-78% growth over our current flying for DL.
-16% overall growth of our fleet.
What remains unclear is what flying this will be, if it is in addition to the new bases announced last month, or if those were opened with the intent to cover that flying.
The 62 vacancies in each seat posted for SDF and BOS represent approximately 5% of the current pilot group, so a 16% growth would indicate there is additional flying coming.

So Skywest goes back west and it’s still Republic and Endeavor in NY? That doesn’t make sense. Hopefully opening sdf means Republic will focus on the Midwest, also. Maybe some ATL and SLC flying?

Either way, raise a toast to the final three, and pour out a lil' somethin' for the homies lost.

My source says 30 CZ planes to Republic, 6 to OO. None of the announced growth regarding CZ planes are new...unless Republic parks the old CZ in favor of the new planes they have coming on property.

Here's to hoping the growth opportunity they mentioned in their memo comes to fruition, although at some point we just start kicking the can further down the road until some pilot group gets screwed. It's a dog-eat-dog world in the regionals, unfortunately. Scope relief hurts us all in the long run, so this is just kind of the way it is.
I thought it was nice that OO made a point to offer the CZ guys a spot. Hopefully they don't need it. Rumors are they (CZ) are getting some United flying, which itself would probably come at Mesa's expense. And round and round we go.

While west coast flying would have been nice, let’s not try to confuse ourselves with something we’re not. In light of that, let’s celebrate the departure of the worst performing non-union airline out of YXland.

Be careful what you say... Even though the news implies Skywest leaving LGA there hasn’t been any word of that being the case yet.
