Those trips are 200/145 routes. Most of our flying averages about 1.5 hours. The shortest routes I've flown are RIC-IAD and DEN-COS. On the flip side we do EWR-EWY, ORD-ELP, EWR-SAT, etc

With the crazy hiring I'd guess it'll stay like this for a while. Legacies and LCCs are taking our pilots in big numbers right now. Captains are leaving, FOs are leaving/upgrading quickly, so there's lots of movementin the list. Unless there's another shutdown I'd guess you'll be able to get whatever base you want. Upgrade, not so much.

This month the most junior upgrade was a 10/30/2018 hire. With the uptick in attrition it should get faster. Pre-pandemic, if my memory is accurate, I think it came down to as low as 13 months.

It won't be long before you can upgrade as soon as you meet your mins. As soon as you get comfortable in the right seat, which should only take a couple month after IOE, you should start preparing for upgrade.

.......Probably should have included for those that don't know: Mins to upgrade are 2500TT and 1000 Part 121 SIC. Looks like we are quickly getting to the point again that once you have it and you put in for first available upgrade, you will get it when you meet the mins.

Currently a captain in 121. Considering a lateral to Republic to get EWR and stop commuting. What are the chances of holding EWR as FO out of training these days and what could I expect for an upgrade timeframe assuming I currently meet all requirements including 2500TT?

Didnt you fail out of Republic training a few years ago?
