Latest vacancy bid ORD had 10 F/O vacancies, I got it right out of training back in June. You will most likely never see it as a captain, but definitely attainable as a F/O. You’ll likely be on reserve for a while, but if you live in base it’s a not a bad gig.

Would I be able to hold ORD as a new hire?

I’m about 4 months out from ATP mins, and Republic is my top choice. I’d like to be ORD based wherever I end up. Once I upgrade to captain, I’ll probably move to DC since it’ll be next to impossible to have ORD CA.
Unlikely (but possible) to hold it out of training right now, but you should be able to hold it easily within a short amount of time. Things change rapidly, so that may be different by the time you get here. However, you will almost certainly be on reserve for a bit after your ORD bid is awarded.

Several new hires have gotten ORD right out of training lately.

How recently? According to the seniority list, nobody hired after 7/27 has received ORD.

I stand corrected - just checked, you’re right. Last new hire assigned ORD is from the 7/27 class.

What does it look like to get IND as an FO and in the long run Captain? I heard it's getting more routes?
TIA

Indy is on the senior side in both seats. That's not to say it's difficult to get in either seat right now, but lots of lifers there are enjoying their quality of life living in base so there's comparatively less movement there than other places.

You'll hold it fairly easily, especially as an FO, but you probably wont ever be top 50% on either side.

And just because Indy as an airport is getting more routes does not necessarily mean all those routes would be flown by the IND domicile. Being IND, it probably has a better than average chance of seeing them, but more broadly, that's not necessarily how it works when it comes to pairing construction.

That might be a little extreme. As an example, I'm a mid 2018 hire, even with the slowdowns for COVID, If I was in IND as an FO I'd be 30 ish out of @ 160 FO's

As a CA there, I'd be around is 175ish out of 215 ish CA's

However, past performance is not a guarantee of.....well....anything in this business.

SDF as an FO and CA? I would like to move somewhere I can hold as both relatively easily, don’t see many people talking about SDF. Is it a **** place to live?
