With that being said, I think it's ridiculous that our aft FA jumpseats go unused. Who would you rather have opening that door when **** hits the fan. Scared out of their mind, not paying attention to the FA safety demo pax, or a trained pilot, fa, or even dispatcher. Even if they are truly oal, get that person to work so they can pay for their bills, or get them home so they can see their family.
Same with AA FA jumpseats. Can you confirm that an AA pilot may not occupy a FA js on AA metal? Seriously, why?

I agree with this. The problem is I think that's FA territory and they would probably ask to access to AA/wo FA js and now you have to have all those unions agree. Good luck with that, we can't even agree on this issue...

Sorry to quote myself here, but does anyone know why APA won't allow seat 66 to at least be used for commuters?

They probably consider a commuter a passenger and don’t want to mess with scope.... in the same breath they agreed to not grieve scope violations for a year. Can’t make this up

I can understand not letting that extra seat on the plane, this week it’s just for commuters, next week it’s for non revs, after that it will “only” be used if the flight is oversold and finally it would just be a normal seat.

did that actually pass your MEC (or I think APA. calls it a BOD) or is it just an AIP out to vote?
