I honestly don't know why a west coaster would apply at Eagle. Compass would bet first choice followed by Skywest and that's it.

I also have family in NE Ohio and W Pennsylvania. Wouldn't mind CLE or PIT as a domicile. Other than that, I prefer SkyWest to its multitude of bases in the west.

That can change with the stroke of a pen. I've been predicting it since the 1500 rule became law.

The airlines are intentionally putting themselves into a dire situation regarding pilot supply in order to force congress' hand into allowing a EU-style frozen ATP. Such a program could put someone with no time in the right seat of an airliner in 12-18 months.

Some form of it will be coming along, most likely within the next five years. The only saving grace is that such programs are very expensive, and the airlines are going to have to do something to give potential pilots an incentive to lay out that much cash and make loans for such training look even reasonably feasible for lenders.

Of course, that little problem can be solved by off-the-street hiring and airline sponsorship in such a program.......

Eagle doesn't have a CLE or PIT domicile.

Yep, but that's what led to my original post about my dilemma and included Republic since they have both a CLE and PIT domicile. I hear ya though about a west coaster and east coast domiciles. Eagle is considered merely for the 50 multi requirement, but I cringe at the thought of being based on the other side of the country (other than CLE or PIT).

If I was applying to regionals today and I lived on the west coast it would be Compass > Skywest. Honestly if you can get on at Compass I think you'll be in good shape regardless of where you live.

Republic pilots are proof. :D How's the fabulous JetBlue or better contract coming along?
You, old man, are a disgrace and black eye to the aviation industry. Gawd you must be on a lot of avoid lists.
