what is so bad about republic?
Hmm.

No contract since 2007. Working under 2003 rates and work rules. Mgmt doesn't want to negotiate and doesn't value or respect pilot group. I'd be here all day listing issues. Just read around.

To the OP. Throw a dart at a dart board and go to SkEaPublic.

What do u mean no contract since 2007?
The pay sucks at all regionals its a stepping stone i think upgrade time is what matters the most to most pilots at the time !

Contract expired in 2007 and company walks all over it.

Not really. It's been proven time and time again that what could be a quick upgrade at one place could turn around and be a 10 year upgrade by the time you get on property. Upgrade time is a bit of a misnomer because it assumes that everything will continue along the same track it is now. When has ANYTHING in this industry ever remained static for a long period of time (6+ months).

While people chose their airline for a variety of reasons, upgrade time is one of them, most people tend to do it for quality of life reasons.

Regionals have become less of a stepping stone and more of a base camp for many. Possibly moving on but also possible to take high quality of life over paycheck.

Upgrade times can change overnight. Skywest had 8-12 month upgrades in 2006. The people hired in late 2007 and early 2008 who came there expecting a 1 year upgrade are still waiting to upgrade today.

It's probably better to pick a regional that you wouldn't mind being at if something like that happened again. I would hate to get stuck commuting across the country as an RJ FO for 7 years because I went to a company expecting a 1 year upgrade that didn't happen.

You should come to Endeavor... They would love you here.

There are also several thousand regional CA's going on 10-15 years that thought they would be at a major in 4 years too! The regionals since 9/11 for the most part haven't been "stepping stones," more like the "highway to hell."

I wouldn't go that far. I enjoy my job at a regional because I picked the one that I thought I would enjoy the most if I got stuck here. I would love to go to a major and get a 400% pay raise for doing exactly the same thing, but I can't say I hate my job at a regional.

Oh great, the "stepping stone" argument. Scott Kirby is that you?
