You can jumpseat when you get your badge, which is also typically about 30 days from date of hire (they normally hold the badges till everyone's PRIA comes back... companies have 30 days to respond and will often use every last minute)

But for the love of all things please read up on Jumpseat etiquette on Jumpseatinfo, and on nonrev travel etiquette in general. I've had three of our own guys in training in the last couple months try to sit in the JS without their certificate and medical, and one was telling us how he tried to jump home on mainline and they turned him down because he was wearing shorts and flip flops.

Don't be that guy.

I did it once during training. It's pretty risky if you don't have a backup plan for getting back to class.....but I did it anyway. Most stay at St. Louis the entire duration of training unless there's a holiday. The company positive spaced those who wanted to travel over Thanksgiving 2015 when I was in class.

With four or more days off in a row (I believe the magic number was four) they contractually have to give you the option to travel home space positive.

Best to go home because they don't cover the hotel in that period.

Depending on your phase of training, the above is NOT accurate.

Their management group just scored a huge win by locking them into a contract for 5 years. 1 percent raises and no QOL improvements. Not even block or better (they have historical credit)
