^^^ RickAir777 is correct. Visual Approaches are not “normal” or routine procedures in other parts of the world.

I just assume that they are going to malfunction at any given time and fly accordingly.

This greatly simplifies my life.

How about this. Never go below the path unless directed by ATC. Then VNAV to the feather and never go below those "at or above" waypoints. THEN crosscheck your your GS crossing altitude. Why?

There may be a hill or obstacle before the FAF/GS intercept location on the approach. If you are below the path but about your FAF/GS intercept altitude you could still smack into something.
