Default Freeport

Might as well start the thread. One went off-roading in Freeport.

Reports are it went off the side of the RW as opposed to the end.

The first news story I saw read as “it went off the end” but when I looked up runway length, I have a hard time believing that. And that’s as speculative as I’m willing to go.

FWIW, probably best not to get into speculative details. Media may be watching and we may not be correct.

I am not speculating, it went off the left side.

Pure uninformed speculation: probably uncommanded nosewheel swerving. To my knowledge they never confidently determined what was causing that. Maybe right main l/g collapse, never seen a main l/g bent outwards like that.

I'm gonna choose to focus on the fact that, once again, the mighty 145 crashes without hurting/killing anyone. Get em slimbraer.

That will buff right out.

Glad there were no injuries.

Looks more like someone landed with the parking brakes on. Also looks like it spun sideways when leaving the runway and collapsed the gear to the right.

Landing with the brake set has occurred in the past for this plane. XJT.

This is ridiculous. No one knows any facts on this case. That would have to be a deliberate act by the crew and I don’t see that happening here.
