C-17 landed at Peter o Knight

It actually wasn't damaged all that bad, nothing like the plane tat took the lights out at Shemya. The whole event was sort of a set up, steep-ish visual and all. The evaluator in command was highly thought of; I can't remember if the FEB went or ward or not. I'll talk with a good friend who was around Scott HQ at the time.
Back to the regularly scheduled thread, this can't be good for the crew. A friend was the ALCE/CC at Baghdad when a C-5 landed on the taxiway, nearly taking out a bunch of planes and people. They rode home in the back!

I'm just doing my duty as a fellow aviator to continue the trend.
Cheers.

Quite agree, hacker15e, the AF is filled with armchair judges disguised as SQ/CCs. I had a 2-star wailing on me about one of my crews who declared "safety of flight" due to fatigue. I told him until I heard from the crew, who were in C/R and couldn't be called, I had no opinion except to back up the A/C's decision. He was HOT and asked was that the best I could say. "Yes, it is", I replied. Fortunately, my Wing CC backed me up when he was called, same subject. Case closed, but it doesn't go that way many times, too many.

Heres a video... not as crazy as you might think. The C-17 was built for this kind of thing.
